HPSA Player Policies
As a team player for HP Soccer Academy, I acknowledge that I am representing our program at all times and that my spot on the team must be respected in the following ways:
- I will attend and be on time to practices, games and tournaments. I will be prepared, learn and improve my soccer skills, and respect my coach and my fellow teammates.
- I will wear the appropriate equipment to games and training. This includes: cleats or futsal shoes, shin guards under soccer socks (shin guards must be worn always), the HPSA practice or gameday jersey, HPSA-issued soccer shorts, and appropriate HPSA warm‐up pants, jackets, or gear (in cold weather). I will bring a size appropriate soccer ball fully aired up to each game and scheduled training session.
- I understand that all HPSA team events are mandatory. Players with excessive absences will not be provided with an equal amount of playing time as the players that regularly attend training sessions.
- I will be responsible for any additional conditioning training as needed. At practice we work on conditioning, skills and tactics. Conditioning requires work at least every other day-4 days a week. I will work to keep my fitness at a high level in order to better support my team on the field.
- I will defer to my coach for all roster, training, and playing time decisions and will communicate with my coach to ensure I am making progress or ask for ways to improve.
- I will play with a “team-first” mentality.
- I understand that as a representative of HPSA, I am held to a higher standard. I will not misrepresent HPSA and engage in inappropriate language, racial slurs, or verbal abuse toward referees, players, and games officials on and off the playing field.
I understand HPSA does not control the league’s or the tournament’s schedules, reschedules, the weather, a player’s injuries or a player’s health.
