HPSA has an ongoing contract with HPISD for the use of its fields.  The agreement is for the following:

Fall Season

UP Elementary

HPISD Elementary Schools

*Academy-aged teams (18s-15s) will practice at the MPAC January – February, but move to 4-5p and 5-6p at elementary schools, when school fields become available, generally in March.  In cases of inclement weather, HPSA will let academy-aged teams know if they will practice in the MPAC.

Team Practice Policy

HPSA teams train throughout the entire calendar year, and all team practices and games are mandatory.
Absences must be approved by a coach or team manager.

HPISD Calendar = HPSA Calendar (mostly).   During the school year, HPSA follows the HPISD school calendar and makes every attempt to adhere to a policy that if students are out of school, practices do not take place.  While Academy-aged teams adhere closely to this rule, some conflicts may occur, particularly during and around Spring Break.  Select Teams should expect some exceptions to the policy around Spring Break, especially because their tournament and game schedules are out of HPSA’s control.

Weather-Related Issue. When any practice facility is closed due to inclement weather, all practices are cancelled.  During the hot weather, practices continue, although additional water breaks are made available and players are reminded to bring water and hydrate prior to practice.

Annual Practice Schedule (subject to change)

HPSA practices follow a regular schedule that resembles the following table.  However, final schedules vary based on coach and field availability.  Always refer to your team’s current schedule for specific practice dates, times and locations.
